v Trinity
UCD U20A 0 - 11 TRINITY
UCD failed to take full advantage of the very strong wind in the first half of this match on Sunday at College Park and despite some encouraging performances from second-row David White and No8 Jonathan Slattery it was Trinity who led 3 – 0 at the half-time whistle.
UCD continued to bravely defend against a well-organised and wind-assisted opposition attack but were unlucky to fall further behind to another penalty 15 minutes into the second-half. Soon after UCD full-back Simon Gillespie was narrowly wide from a penalty.
The game ( and a losers bonus point) was put beyond the reach of UCD 10 minutes from full-time when Trinity scored the only try (not converted) of the match.
In the final minutes incisive runs at the Trinity defence by out-half Neil Cowhey, centre Eoghan Conron and winger James Murray failed to reap the reward they deserved.
