Alex Franciosi Position: Hooker/Backrow DOB: 20-12-84 Height: 1.78m Weight: 82kg Alex was educated in Blackrock College and is studying medicine. His playing history includes Blackrock SCT in 2002/03, UCD U20, 2003/04 Conroy Cup and JP Fanagan League 2004/05 and McCorry Cup Winner.

 

 

Arthur Houlihan Position: Second row DOB: 31/01/84 Height: 1.98m Weight: 108 kg Arthur was educated in Clongowes Wood College and has completed an Arts degree in UCD and is now pursuing studies in Law. In his six years with Collidge, he has captained the U20’s to a JP Fanagan league. He has representative honours at Leinster and Irish schools and Leinster 21’s.

 

Ben Barclay Position: Prop DOB: 26/02/88 Height 1.80kg Weight 105kg Ben was educated in Clongowes Wood College and represented Ireland on the U20 squad. Has represented US Eagles against Munster in August 2008.

 

 

Brian Cawley Position: Second Row DOB: 09/06/88 Height 1.95m Weight 113kg Brian is a third year Economics and Finance student. He has representative honours at Leinster 18s, 19s and 20s level and Irish Schools u19s and played on a successful Blackrock College SCT.

 

Brian Hall Position: Front Row DOB: 3-01-80 Height: 1.89m Weight: 113kg Brian was educated at Cistercian Roscrea and has graduated in medicine and is currently working in St. James Hospital. Has been a valuable senior squad member for the past five seasons.

 

Brian O'Driscoll Position: Centre DOB: 21/01/79 Height 1.75m Weight 95kg Brian was educated in Blackrock College, and is a Sports Management graduate. He has captained The Lions, Ireland and Leinster teams. Brian returned to UCD Rugby Club last season.

 

 

Cailbhe Doherty Position Wing DOB: 29/09/1988 Height 1.80m Weight 86 kg Course Physiotherapy Cailbhe learned his early rugby under Tony Ward and Joe McLoughlin in St Gerard’s School, Bray. Played on the UCD Under 20 side last season.

 

Cian Aherne Position: Wing DOB: 11/08/86 Height 177cm Weight 85kg Has just graduated with 1st Class Honours Degree in Psychology. Representative Honours: Munster Schools 04’ Munster U19’s, UCD U20’s J.P Fanagan League Winners. Cian attended Crescent College, Limerick, and played on the SCT there. Is now a member of the Leinster Academy.

 

 

Conor Geoghegan Position: Front Row DOB: 12-07-83 Height: 1.82m Weight: 104kg Conor was educated at St. Michaels College and having completed his studies in Engineering is now studying Accountancy . He represented Leinster and Ireland at schools and U21 levels and was a member of the Ireland squad that reached the U21 World Cup final in 2004. Conor captained Collidge in 2006-2007.

 

 

Conor Mitchell Position: Prop Dob:23/05/85 Height: 1.88m Weight 124kg Conor was educated in Belvedere College S.J and is currently studying Medicine. His playing history includes Navan RFC, Clontarf RFC, Old Belvedere, and Coolmine RFC before transferring to Collidge in 2006.

 

 

Conor Quinn Position: Full Back DOB: 19/06/86 Height: 1.80m Weight: 83kg Conor was educated in Glenstal Abbey and is studying History in UCD. This is his 3rd year with Collidge and managed to win the U20’s league in 2005. Since joining Collidge, he has also represented Munster U19’s.

 

Cormac Quinn Position Scrum Half DOB 9/5/88 Height 1.74m Weight 78 kg Course Arts Cormac is yet another of the Glenstal past pupils who have played for College. A member of the Under 20’s last year he has moved up to the 1st squad this season.

 

 

Daragh Geraghty Position: Scrum Half DOB: 13/03/83 Height 1.75m Weight 85kg Daragh is a past pupil of Blackrock College where he played SCT in 2000 and 2001 and went on to represent Leinster and Ireland at schools’, U-19’s and U21’s level. He returned to the Club last season from Clontarf.

 

 

David Brennan Position Full back DOB: 18/09/1987 Height 1.81 m Weight 84 kg Course Medicine David was a member of the Kilkenny College SCT before coming to College. He played on the UCD Under 20’s side in 2006 but suffered a serious knee injury last season.

 

 

David Gilchrist Position: Hooker DOB: 14/02/87 Height: 1.85m Weight 104 kg David was educated in Belvedere College and was a member of the winning senior cup side in 2004. He is studying Civil Engineering in UCD and is in final year. In his first year with Collidge, he was a member of the U20’s side that won the league and has representative honours at Leinster and Ireland schools as well Leinster and Ireland U19’s.

 

 

Eoghan Conran Position Centre DOB: 30/09/1989 Height 1.80 m Weight 85 kg Course: Engineering Eoghan is a product of the Naas underage system. He has represented Leinster and Ireland at Youths level and was a member of the Leinster Under 20 squad this season.

 

Fergus McFadden Position: Centre DOB: 17/06/86 Height: 1.81m Weight 87 Fergus was educated in Clongowes Wood College and is in his third year with Collidge. He is studying Arts in UCD and won the U20’s league last year. He is a member of the Leinster squad and has representative honours at Leinster and Ireland U19’s, U21’s and ‘A’ levels.

 

Gav Telford Position: Hooker DOB: 02/03/87 Height: 1.83m Weight 105 kg Gavin was educated in King’s Hospital and is studying Horticulture in UCD. He is currently in his fourth year with UCD and has representative honours at Leinster U19’s level.

 

 

Ger Moran Position: Prop DOB: 06/01/87 Height 182cm Weight 98kg Ger is a past student of Kings Hospital and represented Leinster at Schools’ level. He is a third year Agricultural Science undergraduate and is now in his second year in the senior squad.

 

 

Ger O'Rourke Position Lock DOB: 09/10/1986 Height 1.90 m Weight 94 kg Ger played on the Belvedere College which won the Leinster schools cup in 2004. He captained the Under 20 side in college in 2006-7 and is J1 Captain this season.

 

 

 

John Anthony Lee Position: Front Row DOB: 2-10-82 Height: 1.85 m Weight: 104 kg From Terenure College where he played on a victorious SCT. Anthony holds a degree in Economics and has completed a Masters at the Smurfit School of Business. Has been a senior squad member for the last six seasons and has represented Leinster schools and U 21’s.

 

Julian Moroney Position: Scrum Half DOB: 04/01/1977 Height 1.77m Weight 90kg Julian is a past pupil of King’s Hospital and is a Commerce graduate. He has been a constant member of the 1stXV for well over five years and returns from a year travelling around the world.

 

 

Keith Doyle Position: Prop DOB: 11-12-83 Height: 1.87 m Weight: 105 kg Keith was educated at CBC Monkstown and having completed a Diploma in Sports Management is pursuing further studies. Keith represented Leinster and Ireland at schools and U21 level and was a member of the Ireland squad which reached the U21 World Cup final.

 

Kevin Croke Position: Back Row DOB: 4-07-82 Height: 1.88 m Weight: 98 kg Kevin was educated in CPC Kilcullen and was the Club Captain in 2005/06. An abrasive backrow Kevin has represented Leinster at U19, U21 and development levels as well as Ireland at U19s and Club. At present is studying for a post graduate degree.

 

 

Kevin McLaughlin Position: Back Row DOB: 20-09-84 Height: 1.95 m Weight: 99 kg Kevin was educated in Gonzaga and has completed his commerce degree. He represented Leinster and Ireland at both schools and U21 levels and this season is his fourth year in the UCD senior squad. He is a fully contracted player with Leinster.

 

Killian Lett Position: Out Half DOB: 11-03-86 Height: 1.85m Weight: 85kg Killian was educated in Kings Hospital. His playing history includes Junior and Senior League Winner, Leinster Reserves and Irish Schools, Leinster and Ireland U19, UCD U20's 2004/05 JP Flanagan League and McCorry Cup winner. Is now a post graduate student having gained a 1st Class Honours Degree last June.

 

 

Mark Flanagan Position Lock DOB: 02/08/1989 Height 1.98 m Weight 98 kg Course Engineering Mark graduated from the Mullingar Rugby Club where he gained honours on the Irish Youths. This year he played on the Leinster Under 20 team which won the Interprovincial Championship.

 

Matt Nagle Position: Back Row DOB: 20/04/1986 Height 1.85m Weight: 98kg Course: Medicine Matt was educated in Glenstal Abbey before coming to UCD where he has recently transferred from Architecture to Medicine. Matt progressed from the J1’s to the 1st’s last season.

 

 

Michael Hastings Position: Three Quarters DOB: 4-04-83 Height: 1.86 m Weight: 90 kg Michael was educated in Wesley College and graduated with a MBS last year. Represented Munster at U-21 level and won his colours five seasons ago. Michael captain’s Collidge for the second successive season

 

 

Neil Cowhey Position: Outhalf DOB: 05/03/1988 Height: 1.80m Weight: 85kg Neil is a past pupil of St. Mary’s College, Rathmines and joined UCD in 2006. He has represented Leinster at schoolboy level and is his final year in the senior squad.

 

 

Niall Kearns Position Centre DOB: 13/10/82 Height 1.85m Weight 97 kg Niall is a Commerce graduate and then completed a Masters in the Smurfitt School. A past pupil of CBC Monkstown Niall has rejoined the Club as a dual status player with Seapoint this year.

 

 

Nigel Mills Position Back Row DOB: 10/07/1987 Height 1.78m Weight 89kg Course Ag Science Another Mullingar man Nigel has played on the College Under 20’s for the past two seasons.

 

Paddy Conlon Position Back Row DOB: 18/04/1987 Height 1.89 m Weight 94 kg Course Engineering Paddy has being playing in the Club for the past four season. A stalwart of the J1’s last year Paddy is making an impact on the 1st’s this year.

 

 

Rob Kearney Position: Full Back/Wing DOB: 26-3-86 Height: 1.80cm Weight: 90kg Robert was educated in Clongowes Wood College. He has represented Leinster at Schools and Senior levels and Ireland at Schools and U19 levels. A final year Arts student, Rob has a full contract with Leinster and gained his first International Cap in 2006.

 

Rob Shanley Position: Scrum Half DOB: 17/02/88 Height: 1.80m Weight: 85kg Robert is a past pupil of St. Michael's College and is studying Commerce. Rob has been an integral part of the U-20 squad for the past two seasons and joins the senior squad for the first time this season.

 

Ronnie McCormack Position: Prop DOB: 27-04-77 Height: 1.82m Weight: 112kg Ronnie was educated in St. Mary's College. He played on the Leinster and Irish Schools Leinster U19s. He is on a full Leinster contract having already represented Leinster and Ulster. Represented Ireland A in the Churchill Cup.

 

Rory Allwright Position Centre DOB: 14/01/1988 Height 1.84m Weight 94 kg Course Arts Rory is a multi talented sportsman having played both rugby and cricket in Sanford Park School and Merrion CC. Having recovered from a serious car accident last year made a successful return to rugby on the Under 20’s.

 

Simon Gillespie Position: Full Back DOB: 14/10/1987 Weight: 87kg Height: 1.80m Simon is a third year Arts student and comes to UCD having played SCT for Sligo Grammer School and he has represented Connaught at U-19 level.

Stephen O'Dwyer Position: Second Row/Backrow DOB: 26-12-84 Height: 1.98 Weight: 100kg This is Stephen's third year in the Senior Squad, having played with the U20's previously. Stephen was educated in Blackrock College and has completed a post graduate Business course.

 

Vasily Artemiev Position: Wing D.O.B: 24/07/87 Height: 182cm Weight 87kg Studying: 3rd year law. Representative Honours: Leinster Schools,U19’s & U20’s, Irish Schools & Irish U’19’s. Vas came to Blackrock College from Moscow and won schools Junior and Senior Cup medals there. Has played for the successful Irish Universities side.
