While the Lions got off to a bad start in South Africa the Ireland A side recorded a first win in the Churchill Cup Final beating England Saxons 49-22 in Denver Colorado. UCD’s Fergus McFadden had an outstanding tournament and played a large part in the emphatic victory. Fergus was awarded the Tournament’s Most valuable Player trophy as a mark of his performances. In South Africa both Brian O’Driscoll and Rob Kearney had outstanding games in an otherwise disappointing test.
UCD players Conor Gilsenan; Sam Coughlan-Murray; Luke McGrath; Jordan Coughlan and Barry Daly who were capped for Ireland U20’s in the 6 Nations defeat of Wales (11-6) on Friday in Athlone.
