Occupation & what does it involve? I am scrum coach for the Crusaders and Canterbury. I also am the Professional Development Manager for the Crusaders and Canterbury. This entails supporting, guiding and assisting players in their off field activities.

School Attended? Christchurch Boys' High School


Family? Married with 3 boys


Playing position? Prop


Rugby honours?   UCD, Canterbury, Crusaders, All Blacks (22 caps), Edinburgh


Year you played with UCD RFC? 1996/1997


Did you study while at UCD? No not really


What brought you to UCD? Experiencing a different culture


What path did your rugby career follow when you left UCD? I went on to play for Canterbury, Crusaders and the All Blacks


Any special memories of your UCD days or your Colours match? I remember a fish being thrown on the field during the colours match.


Most memorable rugby moment? Scoring a try on international debut at Lansdowne Rd in 2001. New Zealand won 40-29.


Best player you played with and against? Greg Somerville, Reuben Thorne


Best player in the world at the moment? Dan Carter


Up and coming player in New Zealand? Ryan Crotty played 12 at the Under 20 WC


If you could turn back in time would you do anything differently? No not really


Graham Henry - right man to lead New Zealand to RWC 2011? At this stage yes


Three words that best describe Hartigans Pub? Eye Opening Experience

What is your poison? Beer


Pastimes? Spending time with the family and property investment


Golf handicap?  Just myself


ELVs – good for the game? Yes if the whole world played the same ELV's


What book are you reading at the moment? Studying for a Post Grad Diploma in Sports Coaching


Favourite movie? Shawshank Redemption


Who is your favourite artist/band/composer?   Like most of the middle of the road music


What rule would you ask David Carrigy to get changed in rugby? Deliberate spinning of the scrum by opposition which turns the possession over.
