Welcome
Fellow members and visiting guests, 
As captain of UCD RFC I would like to extend a warm welcome to our visiting guests, my fellow members and all supporters. I am particularly delighted to welcome all new members and I hope you enjoy your time at the club.
There were many highs and lows in the 2006/07 season. There was the disappointment of losing the Colours for the first time in eleven seasons. However, we look forward to the challenge of regaining this title. On the other hand, the collective unity of UCD RFC was shown in the final league game of the season where a great crowd and a fine performance enabled Collidge to retain their first division status. With many seasoned campaigners combining with talented young players I believe we have every right to look forward to the new season with optimism.
On behalf of all at UCD I would like to thank Dara Rowley for his fantastic service and his help in bringing UCD from the third to the first division. We wish Bobby Byrne and Gary Coakley good luck in their role as coaches to the first XV.
We value the contribution and input from all our members and I would like to express a sincere thank you to all who have shown their support to UCD RFC. Your continued support is much needed and I would encourage you to attend as many matches as possible as it is much appreciated by the players. Gratitude is also extended to all our sponsors and advertisers, especially AIB as our principal sponsor.
Finally, it is an honour and privilege to be elected to captain this great club for the 2007/08 season. I would like to take this opportunity to wish all players, coaches and members an enjoyable and successful season.
