Founded in 1910, University College Dublin, Rugby Football Club has been a senior club since 1919.
In the 2008/2009 season UCD RFC have seven teams, including three under-20 teams playing in Leinster and All Ireland competitions. The 1st XV have being playing in Division 1 of the All Ireland League since 2001.
Throughout the years, numerous UCD players have gained provincial and international honours at all levels ranging from Irish Universities to Ireland Senior team and the British and Irish Lions. Current internationals Brian O'Driscoll and Rob Kearney are members of the Club.
Located on the Belfield campus, the Belfield bowl has recently undergone extensive renovations including upgrading the stadium to a 1,500 capacity, installing floodlights and the construction of the Rugby pavilion.
Last season we updated one of our training pitches to a top of the range all weather pitch which can be used for both training and matches. In recent times Ireland, the All Blacks and Leinster have trained on the pitch.
